On early Sunday morning a sinkhole situation grew dire when a home started to sink in North Catasauqua. It is believed that a pipe burst caused a leakage of water to soften the soil underneath the home. The situation was such that the home needed to be leveled. Our crews responded quickly and worked to ensure the demolition of the home was done properly.
We would like to give a special thank you to all of those involved this last Sunday morning, including the North Catasauqua Fire Department Cheif Shawn McGinley, the director of North Catasauqua Emergency Management Roger Scheirer and Mark & Lee Walters of Walters Excavating. Another thank you to the North Catasauqua Police Department and Keycodes.
Also thank you to Bill Rohrer for his on scene video news reporting about this in Newsworking.org. A link to the video can be found here http://newsworking.org/house-razed-after-sink-hole-develops-under-basement/
