Suparna Damany – Physical Therpist opens Wellness Center

Allentown, PA — Suparna Damany is sought by private patients and corporate clientele worldwide and now, the 4,500 square-foot Damany Center for Chronic Pain & Holistic Well-Being is open for clients seeking pain relief for a number of maladies.

Located at 4536 Hamilton Blvd., at the intersection of Route 222 and Route 78, “The Hamilton corridor is an important hub for commercial growth and transportation,” says Thomas Williams, Real Estate Director, Cityline Construction, Allentown.

Williams notes it was strategic for the tenant to locate centrally in the Lehigh Valley, but also within walking distance to the Bieber Tourways Terminal.  Her patients travel from across the globe, but also by bus from New York City, or as nearby as around the corner to seek therapy.

Cityline Construction demolished a vacant Pizza Hut restaurant in 2014to make way for improvement to the Lower Macungie Township corridor. Soon, it became evident the perfect fit would be Damany.

On a recent visit, patients at the new center, which also features an Ayurvedic Café with juice bar, and a “Wet Spa” or Vichy shower for therapy, traveled from as far as the United Kingdom, and Turkey.  Damany says such clients find lodging locally. In September, Damany, an international speaker, plans to use the first floor of the Wellness Center for community classes, lectures, and discussions.   The interior has been designed by Lynda Somach.

The physical therapist and ergonomic specialist has been treating patients for many forms of chronic pain for two decades. She says, “A growing number of young students and professionals have sought assistance for ‘Tech Neck’ (aka text neck), faux carpal tunnel, and other maladies of the arm, shoulder and back.” With the digital tech world booming, her holistic methods explained in her book, “It’s Not Carpal Tunnel Syndrome!,” an Amazon bestseller in 2005, has her well in demand.

When specializing in prevention of repetitive workplace injuries, which comprise about 60 percent of workforce ailments, Damany’s past and present corporate clients include ExxonMobil, Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Imperial Oil of Canada, among other Fortune 500 firms. “Technology is part of our world – it’s not going away, and to embrace technology also means to learn the ergonomics of the work station,” she adds.
